Kurt manages the day-to-day business of UI, which includes acting as liaison between UI’s various departments, hiring new employees, and overseeing the updates of sales and marketing, manufacturing, and QA processes and procedures.
In addition, Kurt plays a major role in quoting new projects for out-of-the-ordinary applications. He regularly visits with new customers to learn about their businesses while also finding the best ways to help improve urethane part performance while reducing costs.
Kurt has been in manufacturing since 1980, where he worked for a major woodstove manufacturer. In this position, he worked on the design, prototype and test team responsible for manufacturing the first EPA-approved woodstove in the U.S.
In 1993, he became production manager at Creative Urethanes, Inc. and then moved to a urethane startup, Advanced Urethane Solutions, Inc. in 1996. He was with Dunlop Sports Group for three years where he oversaw production. Kurt arrived at Urethane Innovators in 2006 after Taylor Made Adidas Group purchased Dunlop.
Kurt has been happily married since 1985 to the most wonderful woman in the world, has one great son and remarkable daughter-in-law, four very unique and wonderful grandchildren, three black cats, and one very happy dog. Kurt also served as the board chairman of Interfaith Refugee Ministry, Inc., an organization dedicated to helping religious and political refugees rebuild their lives in eastern North Carolina. He enjoys most forms of music and automobile and motorcycle racing.
