Helping you create new parts or improve existing parts – cost effectively

custom-urethane-sphere

First run prototypes of a check valve ball.

Whether you need help choosing the right material for your industrial application, or you need something created that doesn’t yet exist, UI can help you.

We pride ourselves on finding creative solutions to your application challenges – while helping you reduce costs and speed production time.

With our 3D printer, we often run sample parts for customers; we then use these for making molds.

Our prototyping service includes:

Making recommendations for process and/or design improvements

Choosing the correct material based on the application environment or how the part is being used

Creating a first article, sending it to you for testing, and then making changes to the mold based on your feedback

Mold making / 3D printed test parts

One-time or ongoing production runs

Getting Started

Before speaking with a UI engineer, please have the following information available (if possible).

Drawings

CAD drawings with dimensions, tolerances, etc. are fantastic. Consultation includes helping to correctly identify which of your tolerances are beneficial to your product and which ones may only serve to cost you money.

Application Environment

Let us know how and where the part will be used. Things to consider include temperature, humidity, exposure to elements (water, soil, salt, UV, chemicals, etc.), abrasion, and vibration – to name a few things.

Number of Parts

UI specializes in the production of volume parts versus “one offs.” Depending on the part and application, we run volumes of 50 pieces to 10,000 pieces or more.
